Tranquility Amidst Turbulence by Zainab Khurram
Drifting towards the deep sea which has been perturbed with the fright carried in the floating hearts—
Petrified minds that block a Pollyannaish’s view of its surroundings—
Eyes which focus on the discerned sight and neglect the bright outlook—
—Such is the scenario with the people nowadays.
What we cannot see is the privilege of spending time devoted to our close ones, being able to contemplate, self evaluate discovering some leisure activities for our own self. In the world that was running, we got to pause.
We had been so busy living a bejeweled life, that only now we can feel the calm and lightweightedness by discarding all adornments and exempting ourselves from luxuries. Preventing ourselves from the undesired and unwanted worldly chattels.
The blessing of getting to inhale the calm and Pacific Air in the environment–the environment that had been so unliveable, and we were bent upon destroying.
The current gloom clouds our hearts and minds, preventing us from noticing these silver linings while we focus on the murky milieu.
If alacrity prevails, hearts may carry joy with a positive outlook that blocks the pessimistic view of the situation.
The sea drowns, but the sea cleanses too. The sea is turbulent, but in its depth lie priceless pearls.
So while we are forcibly thrown in this tempestuous sea, the choice remains ours of what we do with our surroundings. Yes, the sea is unfamiliar territory, all the more reason to keep learning.
