Generation’s School, Middle Section celebrated its showcase theatrical event Genorama on March 30, 2019, with great zeal fervour. All the students of Grade IX took part with great enthusiasm.
On this occasion, the chief guest, a visionary parliamentarian, Ms. Ghazala Saifi appreciated the rising talent and applauded with great pride. Ms Ghazala Saifi is currently serving as a Secretary National History and Heritage. She is a member of profound committees: Federal Education and Skill Development, Kashmir and Human Rights.
In her welcome address, the Headmistress of the Middle Section, Ms. Sadia Ashar highlighted the importance of theatre and talked about the importance of the event’s theme. She further advised students to make use of all the available resources to showcase their talents.
The event started with Tilawat followed by the national anthem. The theme of the event was “diversity” highlighting the strenuous efforts of the Generians to symbolize perfection, hard work and acceptance. Every piece of art was a reflection of diversity in thoughts, ideas and actions.
Apart from the talent on stage, students of Grade IX took charge, under the guidance of their teachers, of every aspect including backstage, artwork, media and I.T., makeup, costumes and transitions to name a few.
The first presentation was a beautiful nasheed that glorified the diverse attributes of Allah Almighty; followed by plays and song performances in English as well as Urdu, emanating the importance of inclusiveness. The Urdu play, an adaptation of the famous satirical series Alif Noon, filled the audience with laughter and amusement. Despite the bone tickling dialogues, it gave a strong social message on social issues. The series ended with the heart touching, meaningful Kalam-e-Iqbal. Shakespearean play Richard the III, amazed the audience and persuaded them to think about the tyrannical yielding and human emotions. Adding more substance, Alice in Wonderland rejoiced the students sitting in the auditorium, and showcased the amusing world in one’s dreams.
Impeccable artwork and backdrops added a mesmerising effect that left the audience applauding the students’ and teachers’ efforts.
In her address, the founder principal of Generation’s School, Dr. Ghazala Siddiqui highlighted the school values and the vision and the alignment of such events with the school’s objectives.
