Sarim Raza’s Global Impact through Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Sarim Raza, a fervent serial social entrepreneur who has dedicated his career to uplifting those at the bottom of the socioeconomic pyramid. As the visionary founder of Retex, Sarim has played a pivotal role in bridging the gap between sustainable textile small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Pakistan and the global market. His commitment extends beyond Retex, as he is also the Co-Founder of two remarkable initiatives – Riayat, devoted to diminishing urban inequality in Pakistan, and Mawesh E-Mandi, revolutionizing the direct sale of livestock from farmers to consumers.
However, Sarim’s journey of impact finds its roots in his formative years at Generation’s School. This institution was not merely a stepping stone but a crucible where Sarim imbibed values of empathy, moral integrity, and innovation. It wasn’t just about academic pursuits; Generation’s School provided access to opportunities and instilled a profound sense of social responsibility, shaping not only Sarim’s education but also his character.
Currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) at Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs, Sarim’s influence extends far beyond the academic realm. With a concentration in International Finance and Economic Policy, he serves as the Coordinator for the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Youth Action Hub in Pakistan. Leading the Act4Food Act4Change movement, a global youth-led initiative advocating for transformative food system reforms, Sarim is actively contributing to shaping the future of global policies.
Sought-after as a speaker at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, Sarim shares his journey as a young entrepreneur, helping shape policies for the next generation of entrepreneurs from underprivileged backgrounds. He proudly represents Pakistan in various international forums, including the World Investment Forum, World Forum for Democracy, and Our Ocean Youth Leadership.
Sarim Raza’s story is one of impact, innovation, and a commitment to creating positive change both locally and on the global stage. From Generation’s School to Columbia University, he continues to exemplify the transformative power of education and values instilled in the early stages of his remarkable journey.
